In February 2014, SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) began the implementation of its After-Hours Nurse Triage Line throughout many of the Consortium’s outpatient clinics.

This year, SEARHC is receiving two awards for providing this service to our patients.

The first award comes from the Alaska Primary Care Association (APCA). The award is given to show appreciation for those that contribute and support primary care in Alaska, particularly to underserved communities. SEARHC has earned the Coho Award for “initiative, innovation or best practice that supports or optimizes access, delivery, service and/or outcomes in Alaska.” The award ceremony was held on Thursday, April 30th.

In addition, SEARHC has been awarded a 2014 Director’s Award from Indian Health Service (IHS). It is in recognition of those who have performed extraordinary work in furthering the IHS mission to raise the health status of American Indian and Alaska Native people to the highest possible level and who have helped IHS make progress on the agency’s priorities. The Director’s Awards offer a chance to honor those that are truly going above and beyond the call of duty. This award will be presented in Bethesda, Maryland on May 29th.

We are proud to receive such esteemed recognition both state-wide and nationally. Thank you and congratulations to the SEARHC team that worked so hard to get this program off the ground.
